We grew up with Cowboys and Indians, Japs and Commandos, Robin Hood and the Sherriff of Nottingham. Life seemed so uncomplicated. In our naivety, the good guys fought with the bad guys and it felt like there was order in the world. After the obscenities which took place in Paris in January 2015 in the name of religion we wrote this song. Do we still need a Satan in a world where people will do such dreadful things to each other for their beliefs? After the first time we performed this song in public an audience member sought us out afterwards to tell us that it was “brilliantly, courageously blasphemous” – well we’ll live with that.
